House SWEET House

I'm sure glad I have Aubrey around -- she is a great excuse to do fun things like making a gingerbread house. And that's just what we did one morning over the Christmas holiday...

It was actually supposed to be a gingerbread village, but only one little house wasn't broken when we opened our kit. I guess you can't have too high of expectations when you pay less than $10. And truthfully one house is plenty for a toddler's attention span. Not to mention Aubrey taste-tested every sugary decoration, so if we had powered through the entire village I can only imagine the tummy ache it would have produced...

She wasn't a huge fan of the green gummies. Luckily chasing it down with a swig of mini M&Ms helped get the taste out of her mouth...
Here's Aubrey's final product from start to finish...
Not too shabby for a first-timer...
Of course, immediately after construction and final touches, Aubrey was asking, "Can I eat it now?!"
Now I like my fair share of sugary goodness, but Aubrey definitely inherited her sweet tooth from the man of the house...
It's such a sweet life with these two around. :)
