So, before my mind ends up erasing all these little trinkets of memories, here's life with Aubrey at this moment in time.
First off, she's still full of P-E-R-S-O-N-A-L-I-T-Y.
Very independent.
Very opinionated.
Very bossy.
Very hilarious.
She loves to sing silly songs. The Laurie Berkner Band is her favorite musical group at the moment.
Any and all sticks turn into her "magic" sticks.
She sings a special song when she finds one:
Magic Stick.
Magic Stick.
Does the trick.
The mouse ran up the clock.
Hickory Dickory Dock.
(I need to get this on video.)
She has a sweetness about her that melts my heart.
She still has this handsome guy wrapped securely around her finger...
She wholeheartedly believes Piggie comes alive when I put her on.Unless chocolate is involved.
She is a Mama.I'd say 95% of her day consists of some form of baby-doll management.
She is my little mood ring. You happy, Mommy?
You sad, Mommy?
Mommy, you feeling grumpy?
You sh[f]rustrated?
You having a great day?
You feeling well, Mommy?
Along these same lines, she's very in tune with subtle emotional cues.
For instance, her favorite movie is Up.
She has a love/hate relationship with playgrounds.
It's more an Outdoor vs. Indoor issue, really.
Outside = good.
Inside = bad.She always seems to get stuck at the very top of them.
I, then, have to climb up and rescue the teary-eyed tot.
It's pretty mortifying, for both of us.
She loves playing "school".
She doesn't want to be the teacher or the student. She insists on being the Mommy who drops her baby off. Then, she wants me (or a specified baby-doll) to pretend to cry so that she can come back to school and pick me (or the doll) up.
And speaking of school, she still gets raving reports from her MDO teachers.
She's a good little bedhead. She will often tell me, "I need to go take my nap now." And at night, she does pretty well with going straight to la-la land with the exception of a handful of nights.
Her hair is out of control.
She's getting better with letting me brush it (thanks to this product). It also might be attributed to the day I told her to sit still so I could get the "rats" out. I forget sometimes how literal children can be. She sat so still and wanted to make sure I got ALL of those rodents out of her hair. I even managed to put her hair in pigtails one afternoon. They weren't perfect, by any means, but they were there. For a good 20 minutes. It was epic. The poo issue is no longer an issue. Praise the Lord!
After an x-ray, pow-wow with her pediatrician, and a daily regiment of miralax -- I am happy to report things are "moving" on a daily basis.
Okay, I'm done with the embarrassing information.
I love you, Aubrey.
