Sunday Snapshots

Basketball is life.
Right now, at least...
And it's Madness, I tell you.
Madness.

March Madness, Baby!

It's time to fill out those brackets!

I grew up in a home where UK basketball was borderline religious.

It's in our genes.
We bleed blue from birth.
(Well, unless you're a Louisville fan. Then you bleed red, of course.)

I did, however, marry a contradiction.

While Daniel was born in Kentucky, he bleeds a different shade of blue.
Duke Bluedevil blue.

The fact that he attended Duke in 2000-2001 -- the year they won the championship -- only seemed to ignite his love and devotion even more.

Here's a pic from when Daniel braved the elements for days to cheer on his beloved Bluedevils -- along with his other Cameron Crazies. Of course, you don't "see" many of them. They're inside their tents studying. :)
Daniel would wear a BRIGHT yellow shirt to nearly every game.
Even in a sea of Crazies -- he stood out. :)

So, even though Aubrey was technically born in Ohio, she's already showing signs of a true BLUE basketball fan. We're just not sure which blue she is yet. Time will tell, I suppose.

One thing is for sure, when March Madness rolls around -- it's serious business in this house!

And Dad, I thought you'd get a kick out of this video...
Before we put Aubrey to bed last night, she filled out her bracket with Daniel.

And, if you remember, Aubrey wasn't too happy when her teams lost and knocked her out of the bracket when she was just a measly 6 months old.

Now hurry up and finish those brackets before the first tip-off!

And let the Madness begin!!

We're out...

After today's basketball games, the Riherd Family Bracket is now officially closed.

Aubrey is still pretty fired up about it:

I'm thinking maybe we should encourage golf a little more in this house. Tiger doesn't seem to disappoint much these days.
